Ooita Area

I should like to introduce Beppu city in Ooita pref.

Beppu is a very historical city of sightseeing and hot spa.



This city has the largest ammount of hot spa in Japan.

This is Beppu sta.

There is a free footbath in front of this.

This is Beppu bay.

There are old inns along the bay.

The seaside is beautiful.

This is Takegawara-Kohji (meaning Bamboo Tile Alley).

This alley is the oldest arcade in Japan.

There are many old bars and restaurants along this alley.

We can hear somebody singing at night.

This is Back Street. There are so many cabaret clubs and sexual clubs.


This is Takegawara hot spring.

This building was built in 1938.

Settled atmosphere.





This is Koutou (meaning High-Class)hot spring.

This building is so beautiful.

This is Beppu Tower.

It's built in 1957.

This tower is built for the third time as a high tower in Japan.

And this is one of " 6 Tower Brothers ".

Beppu city has many ZIGOKUs.

(ZIGOKU means hell. Thanks to strong acid soil, it is impossible to grow crops in this area. That's why this area is called so. )

This is Blood-Pond-Hell (chi no ike zigoku).

The reason why this pond is red is that this hot spa contains iron oxide.

This is Sea-Hell (umi zigoku).


This beautiful blue color comes from sulphate of iron.

Nagasaki Area

Nagasaki city is so beautiful a city.

This city has old-side and new-side.

Both of 'em are so attractive.

Nagasaki sta. side is the new side.

There are big shopping malls and a ferris wheel.

And its night-view is one of the three great night-views of Japan. The view from Mt.Inasa is so great.

And there are lots of spots for sightseeing.

This is Glasses-Bridge.

This is one of the three great China-Town of Japan.

Nagasaki has a deep relationship between China for many years.


Chinese style festivals are held in this town.

The lanterns are so great.

Confucius mausoleum.

It was built in 1893.

There are cultual assets of China here.

There are European-style houses at the mountain side.

They makes me feel that I'm in foreign town.

There are old buildings concerning trade at the sea-side.

This is Hongkong-Shanghai bank.

This is Glover garden.

The Glover's house is the oldest European style building in Japan.

Glover is the man who contributed to making the base of the shipbuilding town , Nagasaki.

And there are many churches in Nagasaki prefecture.

The Christianity has widely spread in Nagasaki.

This is Dejima wharf.

At the era of isolation, Japanese government permitted trading only in this Dejima wharf.








Dejima used to be an island, but it's a wharf now. Some buildings are restored.

We can feel the atmosphere of Edo era.

The port side is awesome.












Nagasaki is the city of port.

The function of the port is so fine.

Amusements like lighting up is also great.

Sometimes we can see very very big ships.













Urakami area in Nagasaki was destroyed with an atomic bomb by U.S army on August 9th, 1945.

Many people died by the atomic bomb which is much stronger than the one of Hiroshima but fortunatelly, less people died compared to Hiroshima because this area is enclosed by mountains.

This is the museum.

Nagasaki city became Hell on Earth.

We won't blame the States

but we never forget.

Kitakyushu Area

Kitakyushu city is located at the north-side of Fukuoka prefecture.

It's the second biggest city of Fukuoka. Its population is about one million and it consists a great urban area.

There are 7 wards in Kitakyushu city. Kokurakita-ku,Kokuraminami-ku,Moji-ku,Tobata-ku,Yahatahigasi-ku,Yhatanishi-ku and Wakamatsu-ku.

I like 3 main areas of Kitakyushu. Kokura area,Moji area and Yahata area.

Kokura area is a city of Shoppoig. There are 2 big shopping mall,KokuraRiverWalk & KokuraChaChaTown. The former is so colourful a building and is odd-shaped. There are many shops and theaters. From its SkyGarden,you can enjoy city view.The latter also has many shops.

And there is a big Ferris wheel.


And there is Kokura Castle at the central area of Kokura.

It's a so beautiful castle.You can go into the castle. The inside is a museum and you can enjoy the city view from the top of the castle. Many tall buildings are being constructed. And there is a Kitakyushu-monorail going through Kokura city. The railway goes into Kokura station. It's so awesome.

Moji area is the city of sightseeing.

Moji port used to be one of the 3 biggest port of Japan! The 2 port left is Yokohama port and

Kobe port.

Moji port transported so many people abroad.

And they come back to this port and be sentimental.

Cos Moji port was so great port and has so long histories, there are many historical buildings and spots.

Moji sta. is so old and beautiful.

And many events are held in front of it. When i visited here few months ago, there were many classical cars.

There are so many place to C at Moji port. You should come to this place.

Yahata area os the city of amusement.

There used to be the oldest and greatest steel mill in Japan , Governmental Yahata Iron & Steel Works.

After this great steel mill moved to Chiba pref. , a big amusement park,Space World was
opened.

Its admission fee isn't so expensive and it's free to enjoy any attractions of the park.

So amazing.
